Earth is in danger. The food was great enemy threatening. What happens if it comes to wet food on earth? Is exciting because the problem of hunger can be solved instantly, or even become a new problem?
The story in the film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is originated from the economic crisis experienced by a small island residence Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader), the Swallow Falls. Small island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean that threatened the problems of poverty and hunger due to a source of state revenue thinning sardines.
To overcome this, Flint familiar with a variety of strange inventions because his father was also an inventor creates a machine that can turn water into food. The machine was given the name FLDSMDFR (Flint Lockwood Mutating Dynamic Diatonic Super Food Replicator).
The main problem, it seems, was overcome. However, Flint found another problem. He failed to operate the machine because of insufficient electrical power. In an opening ceremony of a park, Flint once again tried to operate the findings by using the nearest electrical source.
Not unexpectedly, in these trials, the engine suddenly FLDSMDFR even explode, destroying part of the park, then flew into the sky. Soon after, the sky filled with huge clouds that rained purple city with a cheeseburger.
Realizing what had happened, Flint and then create a communication tool that can make the earth population ordered whatever they like into the sky. Governor Swallow Falls, Shelbourne (Bruce Campbell), use that moment to invite the tourists as well as change the name to Chewandswallow Swallow Falls.
Behind the encouraging developments, Flint found that the longer the food produced by these machines become bigger. It would endanger the inhabitants of the earth if it happens again someday food rains from the sky. Flint intended to disable the machine, but the Governor is prevented by Shelbourne.
Before the tourists came, a tornado destroyed the town of spaghetti. Flint struggled to turn off the engine creation, but less rapidly by the Governor earlier Shelbourne destroying means of communication with the machine. Was finally able to save the city of Flint and prevent discovery engine to create more disasters?

In the first screening, the film’s success positions the box office champion with a profit EUR 8,137,358 or approximately USD 76 billion. Not to stop there, 81-minute length movies that successfully defended the title until a week with a total acquisition of USD 30,304,648 or approximately Rp 286 billion. That makes Cloudy With a Chance of Meatball holds the title as the movie with the third largest profits in the first opening week in September.
The director, Darcy MacIsaac and Christopher Miller, has its own reason for adapting the story in the form of animated films. “We had suspected that this story can be a good action movie. The whole scene in the movie is ridiculous, but the characters in it will have a role very seriously. Make no mistake! If there is a tornado spaghetti happens in your town, you definitely will not be shrugged it off. Just as happened in Chewandswallow, “said MacIsaac.
